A Month of Festivals: Edinburgh

Who isn’t aware of the glorious past and cultural richness of England? Proud Englishmen never lose the chance to cherish and boast about it to the world; we saw the glimpse of it in the opening ceremony of Olympics 2012. Hats off to Danny Boyle But there’s only so much you can show in few hours’ ceremony. If you missed that great show of Britain’s talent and creativity, don’t worry, chances are never lost. You can catch up on it at Edinburgh’s world famous August festive spree.  Red Apple Apartments is ready to host you here as we did during Olympics 2012, with our home like apartments you have a better chance to take up with the local traditions and have a better understanding of the rich English culture.

Edinburgh festivals are designed to entertain every mood and taste. From astonishing art exhibitions, amazing theatrical acts, alluring opera and dance routines to the great book festival and military parades there are wonders at every step of the journey through these carnivals. Statistics show that other than the uncountable numbers of locals, nearly 80,000 people from all over the world flocked there to participate in these festivals in 2011.  Here are the most popular festivals of august:

The Art Festival (Aug 02 – Sep 02): Heaven for Art connoisseurs, this is one of world’s biggest contemporary visual art festivals. Karen forbe’s Solar Pavilion enchanted the festival last year, who knows what marvels your eyes could behold this year.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe (Aug 03 – 27): this is the world’s largest performing art festival in which nearly 47 countries are participating. Amuse yourself with some of great showcases of theatre, comedy, music and dance.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (Aug 03 – 25): It is series of spectacle drum performances performed by military with the great Edinburgh Castle in the background. Watch them celebrating the year of creative Scotland and paying tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee this year.

The Book Festival (Aug 11 – 27): Biggest book fair in the world bringing world’s top-class literature, authors and critiques under one roof.

Other festivals include Film Festival, Mela festival, Storytelling festival and many others. Enjoy them while they last. This is the last minute so secure yourself an apartment in Edinburgh  while we still have few pleasant apartments secured for you.
