Montenero, situated on a hill dominating the sea and the port of Livorno, is among the most famous Tuscan sites especially due to its famous Sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna delle Grazie.
Montenero is a hill 8 km away. from the seaside from which you can easily reach the great art cities of Tuscany. Pisa 20 km, Lucca 30 km, Florence 90 km and Siena 120 km.
From the port of Livorno you can take the ship to visit the Tuscan archipelago and the Mediterranean islands of Sardinia and Corsica
From the Santuario’s Square you can take the funicular (departures alternate every 10-20 min.) To get down to Piazza delle Carrozze. From here you can use LAM Linea Rossa to reach the seafront (15 min.), Livorno down town (25 min.) and, changing line in Piazza Grande, the Rail Central Station (35 min.)
